5 Plug-and-Play AI Use Cases For Your Early-Stage Sales Team

If you read my newsletter every week, you're aware that I don't often write about AI.

The reason I don't like it is that I want to write about things I test, do, and work on.

Not things I have heard of or tried once.

I recently finished a Pavilion course (5 weeks) about AI for GTM teams, and I found myself in a perfect position.

Essentially, almost everything was taught in that course (for GTM C-levels only); I was doing it.

My approach to AI is simple: it is my co-founder, that's it.

We have built Inscaler GPT using all my knowledge, and it helps me make informed decisions and build things.

I use Claude for quick frameworks. Napkin for visuals together with Midjourney. Lovable to build quick apps and play at the weekend.

Unfortunately, most sales teams I work with are yet to implement AI within their workflows.

And no, going on ChatGPT and asking to write an outbound email doesn't qualify for "implement AI within their workflows". 😅

However, the tools we have available have progressed so far that not using them is a significant oversight, both in terms of productivity and efficiency.

That's why, below, are five drop-in use cases you can start piloting with your sales team next week.

Remember, pick one, track the KPI, then scale.

1. 90-Second Prospect Dossiers

Manual headache: Reps usually spend 10–15 minutes per lead, bouncing between LinkedIn, Crunchbase, and the internet to confirm ICP fit and find a hook for their outreach.

AI move: Paste a CSV of URLs + job titles into ChatGPT. It scrapes public pages and extracts firmographics (industry, headcount, tech stack). It gives you a one-pager, plus "why-now" triggers that your rep can use.

Impact: ~8 min saved per lead. At 50 new leads/day, that's 6–7 reclaimed hours per rep each week - a 25% productivity bump.

2. One-Click Personalisation

Manual headache: Good outbound needs to sound human, but writing every email from scratch takes so much time!

AI move: Claude pulls the dossier above, merges it with your value prop and writes:

  • A 3-touch email sequence around the prospect's pain

  • A LinkedIn connection note referencing their latest post

  • Follow-ups for "yes", "no" and "ghost" scenarios

Impact: Teams see +15–20 % opens and 2× replies while copy-writing time drops ~70 %.

3. Live Call Coach

Manual headache: Taking notes during a call is a thing of the past. However, I enjoy note-taking and using multiple colours to highlight what I've heard.

AI move: Fathom, Firefly, free, paid - you name it, you must have an AI recorder within your Gmeets or Zooms. Post-call, ChatGPT generates a summary aligned with your discovery framework.

Impact: Teams I work with experience a 30% faster ramp-to-quota for new hires and a 10–15% lift in first-call-to-SQL conversion.

4. Pipeline Hygiene

Manual headache: You export CRM data every Friday into spreadsheets, trying to spot deals slipping and keep your pipeline clean and run through your teams.

AI move: A ChatGPT dashboard integrates with HubSpot/Salesforce, assigns a health score to each deal, and recommends a next-best action ("no exec contact—multithread"). It also alerts you when the weekly activity volume dips below the threshold.

Impact: 20 % fewer deals slip past forecast and 50 % fewer end-of-month deal slipping drama.

5. Auto-Proposal & Redline Assistant

Manual headache: Custom proposals, pricing tables, and legal redlines take so much time to draft.

AI move: Upload your template to Copilot, CRM fields and call notes, then:

  • Fills scope, metrics and ROI

  • Recommends upsells based on similar wins

  • Proposes clause edits inline in Word/Google Docs

  • Impact: Proposal turnaround shrinks from 48 h to < 6 h on average.

How to Roll This Out

  1. Pick one quick win - Prospect Dossiers is the lowest-risk starting point.

  2. Institute the KPI on day one so you can prove impact.

  3. Document the play in your sales playbook.

  4. Iterate weekly - feedback loops are more effective than perfect planning.

I know implementing AI might seem overwhelming, but it is not that complicated.

Do it right, and your reps will spend less time wrestling with admin and more time having honest conversations.

This kind of move moves the revenue needle.

Thanks for reading this far. See you next week!
